Presenting the partners: The University of Florence and the SAGAS Department of histiry is in charge of Work Package 4.

The University of Florence (www.unifi.it) is an important and influential center for research and higher training in Italy, with 1,800 lecturers and internal research staff, 1,600 technical and administrative staff, and over 1,600 research assistants and doctoral students.

SAGAS Department of History, Archaeology, Geography and Arts was established in 2013 as the Cultural Heritage center of Uni Fi, and was awarded “Department of Excellence” recognition for the years 2018-2022, in the ANVUR national competition for the Quality of Research.

SAGAS hosts national and international research projects, cooperation for development projects and field research archaeological expeditions in Italy, the Euro-Mediterranean region and Asia.
